Does anyone know if the Lake Forest ramp at North Shore is still usable?

Thanks!

Well, how was the launch?. Last year the lake was at natural flow but Lake Forest was launchable.

Never made it to North Shore.
We just stayed and worked the Cave Rock area for 3 to 4 pounders instead.......

Just an up date on the ramp, I checked it out last weekend. Water is low, lower than last year at this time. They did a little dredging along the dock when you first launch and left a pretty good size hole. The shallow continues until you get past the docks. Be careful and don't go near the Coast Guard dock (extremely shallow).
I'm launching at Lake Forest this Thursday\Friday. I'll update if conditions are worse.

Thanks for the info!
I might be heading up next week.
Watch out for the coming weather!
Oh and throw in a fish report with the ramp report as well!

Good luck.....

Well after launching yesterday I will take back what I said about the launch. It's not the shallow conditions that's the problem. The silt that is washed up against the dock, will only allow you to launch your boat on a slant. For a bigger boat, it's a real pain if not impossible. They really need to get a backhoe in there and take a bucket or two of sand off the launch.

It's shallow enough right now to freeze. I've seen it happen many times over the years. Not cold enough yet though. I launched there once thinking that the weight of the boat and trailer would break right through....it did...and also broke off both of my tail lights on my trailer and bent the bracket for my transducer. Last time I tried that!

Do you think I can launch a 22' fiberglass boat with an outdrive, or should I head to Obexors or somewhere else?

I would not even try until they clean the sand and silt off the ramp. I washes up on one side of the ramp and you have to launch on an angle.
Obexors launch is closed, nowhere else to launch on the north or west side. Have to go to the south end until the clean up Lake Forest.
If we all send Tahoe City an email, maybe they'll get the ramp cleaned up.
