Sur Tuesday

The crew of 5 fished Pt Sur for 5 limits of assortment rockies and 22 humboldt. Before heading down to Sur, we took a detour to deeper water for a warm up of things to came....Got 5 squids. On the way home, the boys wanted to play with more squid so we stop at the caynon and put in 17 more for calling it a day.

Guess what did the damage to Daryle's lingcod. The remain was over 24" so his ling would have gone over 30". We think Mr. whitey wanted a lingcod for lunch.

That ling looks like a classic sea lion chew toy!  My wife always gets a kick out of the sea lions whenever we go to Marine World (six flags, now) and watches them pull off cute tricks.  I'm the buzz kill when I tell her they are not so cute when they are ripping of our fish...

Anyway- Nice job guys!  Gives me confidence for my sqiud trip coming up next weekend!

Sea dog would have surfaced and play tug-o-war with us. Daryle said he felt one hard tug and that was it. He reel in the remain as is. A few months ago, I had a 6' white playing tug-o-war with a huge red on the surface next to the boat. I could have touched him with my 8' gaff.
