not my PB but its up there. Caught this hog in '06 on a terminator white spinner at stevens creek res. caught and released 5 but kept this one for the grill. 8.2 pounds!
Here's my PB 10.5 lb and an 8 caught in Rodmans Slough (Clear Lake) on a cold morning in April. Both fish bit a black w/blue flake senko pitched into cover. Water was very stained.
New PB of 13#11oz
Next day's catch of 10#12oz
Got off of work a little early yesterday only to find me Mr. Larghmouth. 5-6 pounder on a 1/2 ounce brown and purple custom jig at Whiskey Slough. Caught other rats on CB100 Spring Craw, but this was the throphy for the day. YEE HAA, that 50 degree mark is magical...
During this time of year fishing for bass can be real slow and sluggish. I made the decision to go pick up a new rod and reel and hit the water. After all you dont know until you try. My first few times out I was just amazed on how many fish I was bringing in. I thought maybe a few here and there but ended up with over 35 pounds of bass in a day and a half. My largest fish was a 8 pound 2 oz but of course my batteries were dead on my camera but thankfully once they were charged I got a picture of my 24" 7 pound 3 oz.
Enjoy! and keep on hunting them down.
Fishing for DD Bass in the winter is one of my favorite forms of fishing.
Here's a 12-1 I caught on 12/30/08 at Lake Perris:
Here's a 12-10
Got my buddy this 12-1
Nice 37 lb 5 fish limit
A 10-5 for my buddy Johnny, his first DD bass
A 12-0 for my buddy and big bass mentor Dave
All fish were caught at Lake Perris. *All but the 5 fish limit and my 12-10 were caught in 2008. *All fished weighed on a certified scale and released. *It was a decent year. Ive kinda turned into an unpaid trophy bass guide with friends begging me to put them on fish. Our rule: they can't have boats. Otherwise we'd end up competing with them for spots.
Oh and my biggest is a 13-9 and my buddy Dave caught a 12-13 the same day:
