    Re: 10-15 cast 4 fish w/pics

I am using 10# braid with an 8# leader. However I loosen the drag all the way after I set the hook. I was using 6# test leaders for the winter until about 2 weeks ago. The lakes I frequent are full of sharp rocks and anything lighter would not work.

JT, are you using really light mono or really light braid when you are throwing with UL and ML rods? I swap out one of my reels onto a 7' ML and it is fun with Senkos.

It may come as a surprise to you, but some of us like to use medium-lite to ultra-lite trout rods for senkos.

Fly rods are great for fishing senkos. I had a baitcaster made from an 7W fly rod blank. It worked great until I decided to catch salmon with it. Now it's in many pieces. ;D ;D ;D

Ponds are getting hot and going to get hotter very very soon.

    10-15 cast 4 fish w/pics

Well I finished early with a client so I decided to go check out a canal. 1st, 4th, 5th and 2nd to last cast hooked up and lost one on another cast. Water was 2' probably and a little murky and I was throwing a crawdad color crankbait. Then someone showed up so I ended up leaving so they wouldn't see me catching fish and fish it out. Then I headed to another ditch/canal and nothin. Fished both places for a combined 10 minutes or so. Not to bad. I was by myself that's the reason I am not in the picture.
