Re: Sac R launches
Tisdale Ramp (north of Knights Landing) is closed. They need to get a dozer out there to move the trees, and silt.

Sac R launches
I've been watching the water level of the Sac recede for two weeks from 25' elevation to 12' at the Ist bridge. Saturday, my partner and I decided to give it a try. We planned to launch from Elkhorn, and I checked out the launch Thursday to make sure it was OK. When I arrived there Sat AM, I was surprised to see that the ramp was open, but a 3' wall of silt a couple of feet from the top of the ramp prevented us from getting the boat in the water. Discovery park ramp is clear, but the park was closed, so we tried the launch in W Sac as well as at the Sac Marina. Same issue, a wall of silt on the ramps made launching impossible. As a last resort we tried Garcia Bend, and since the ramp is not perpendicular to the river and has some protection, it was mostly clear.
After finally getting the boat wet, we tried for several hours to locate any signs of life in the muddy water. Visibility was less than 6". I assumed the bass would be holding tight to riprap and deep cover, but the only bites we had for the day were in flooded brush very shallow. Only spotted a few fish on electronics all day.
Was glad to get on the river again for the first time in a month, but the conditions are not good for actually catching anything. I'll try it again in a couple of weeks.
