Re: Eastman July 7 night fishing
yeah fishing on the weekends = jet skiers who think we like it when they come by and create waves when there is a whole lake out there they can speed by.

Re: Eastman July 7 night fishing
Funny thing about the New J bass club is that I actually had thought about forming the club way before it was started. I had talked to a buddy of mine to be my partner but he was giving the run arounds on it and I figured I couldn't run it alone. If it wasn't for that, I would have been the guy to talk to regarding it. LOL. But I'm actually glad I didn't organize it. I'm always busy on the weekends anyways. Besides, I prefer fishing on the weekdays. Less boat traffic and the fish are not as spooked.

Re: Eastman July 7 night fishing
hahaha..NEW J = the phonetic spelling of fishing in the Hmong language. It's a Hmong club more or less - a club with a lot or mostly Hmong people and started by Hmong people. But it's good to have one of those. My friends in MN are having huge Hmong bass tournaments. It's good because more and more Hmong can learn proper fishing etiquette and better ways to fish to keep the sport alive and prosperous.

most of the time you'll be catching 15 to 18 inchers and that's plenty of good fight for you.
Brett - I finally figured out why so many Hmong people place in the New J fishing club...hahahaha.
Huh? Why are they placing in the club?

from the boat. I'd hesitate to fish from the banks at night at Eastman - rattlesnakes. Though I did see a big group of guys near the ramp fishing at 10pm and looked like the party was only getting started...

Yeah, I would like to do C&R all day long.
Why this lake has so much action? No summer time blues? Is day time bad?

Re: Eastman July 7 night fishing
No money for tournament fishing. Plus I work on the weekends so there would be no time for competition fishing. Been asked many times to join the New J fishing club but all invitations have been declined.

Re: Eastman July 7 night fishing
Bret, you should have entered the tournament! I think you would have won it. Yeah Eastman looks like the lake of choice for bass anglers now. Always action. And that night we didn't even go to our favorite spot!
I love it from 7:30 to 8:30.
