I have verizion and I have my smart phone setup as a hot spot, it works ok with my kindle fire. I haven't tried it with a lap top. This is an extra charge on the phone bill and the downloads can add up if you go over your data plan.
I also looked virgin moble's myif, I think the device runs about $50 plus a data plan. When I checked this out it was a month to month plan so if you only need it for a month this maybe a cheaper way to go then getting a smart phone and a 2 year contract.
There are some companies that have 4G hotspots available with no long term plans. I was thinking of that myself, it can be used with a laptop or other device with multiple link ups. It would not allow anyone without the password to enter so you could use it where there is WiFi available and be on your own network. Right now I hope things work out in all cases.......Jetspray

Re: Help! I need a good WiFi setup!
I had Verizon Wireless for use on two computers for about 5 years, it's OK but not great. Signal searches in big cities is a better shot, you never know who is up and useable because they don't know how to do the settings. If you are a customer in places like Starbucks and other businesses you may have access there. With all of the smart phone technology out there you might want to purchase time through an access card through a distributor for temporary use like ATT or other services. I'm sure it will be costly but short term........Jetspray

Help! I need a good WiFi setup!
Well, actually, my wife needs it for her work. We are supposed to be going to Los Molinos for 6 days and she needs to access websites and emails for work. Some of the RV parks we've looked at say they have WiFi but after looking at some park reviews, it's not so good.
Any body have any ideas on WiFi cards or which park has great Wifi?
I really need help soon. We are arriving on Thursday.
Thanks in advance.
