Thanks Dante. Yeah, it's gonna be hard to beet that trip. The action was real good. We must have landed 20+ stripers for the day. ALL the shakers were nice and fought a lot bigger than they were. The three we brought home were all males. With males that size the hens that should be here soon ought to be HUGE! It should happen any time now. I'm gonna try and get back out one more time before I go back to work on Monday. I'm considering an over nighter Friday or Saturday. If I go I'll deffinately post up afterwards....
It's nice to finally be able to launch close to home. The stripers are there!
    FISH ON!

Sounds like you need to get her in the boat then! This was probably the best trip I've had so far this year. The fishing was awsome and the company couldn't have been better. Yeah, I had a blast watching her fight those cats! As far as the location....we were about 3 miles up the Sac out of Verona...
    Good Luck!

Yeah it WAS her idea....I had a hard time believing it myself! It was an awsome day. I'm not sure where you would find one like Shawn. The only advice I can give is keep looking. Thanks for the shout!

No "mooching" necessary bro! Just let me know when you want to go and we'll see if we can work it out. I start a new job on Monday so I'm not sure of days off yet but I'll let you know for sure! It WAS a blast!
    Thanks Mike....

    Verona 5/15/06

My wife and I hit the water about 9:00 AM out of Verona and were soaking bait by 9:30. It was Shawn's first trip of the year and I was jazzed that she wanted to go fishing for our anniversary! We had good action all day long. We landed nice healthy shakers from 16" to 18" for most of the morning then it happened. Shawn's rod slammed toward the water on the balancer and she set the wood to it. I thought she had a huge striper on by the way this fish was fightting. After about a 10 minute fight she landed the first of 2 nice fat channel cats. (bonus fish for a striper trip!) About 11:00 the bite had died down a bit so we decided to move back down river to fish a few spots we had marked fish at on the way up river. On our way down we came across a couple of fishermen in a small aluminum boat who motioned for us to come over. They produced a stringer with nice limits of stripers on them and offered us "their spot" as they were getting ready to leave. We anchored up and after getting some tips on how the stripers were biting they went on their way leaving us to enjoy their "hot spot". The action was very steady and we boated 3 keepers to 25" and Shawn's 2nd fat cat! I even managed to hook a large squaw fish during the bite. Headed back to the ramp with 3 nice stripers and 2 very nice cats for our efforts. We fished in 17' to 25' of water. The surface temp was about 67 degrees and the hot bait was good ol' sardines. Off the water by 5:30 PM and home by 6:00. It was a fantastic day on the water. I need to get Shawn out in the boat more often. She has the MOJO!
    Here's a few pics....

    My turn!

    Healthy striper!

    The day's catch...

    Best of luck to all...
