I wouldn't mind taking a guide any other locations besides Santa Cruz?

Please explain bait and picture??
I don't think head boats have rod holders. Only ones are attached to your shoulders.

I was using Accurate 80-W low gear fought all the way up every time average size was about 7'
I had several taken out by sharks on the way up near the thermocline.

Re: Squid fishing charters
That's a 2 liter bottle in the corner to give some size perspective.
this is from San Lucia Bank i caught them 24-7 for three days straight over a 25 mile drift at 900' every drop.
They school in groups up to 1200 and like to hang out on the upwelling side of steep structure to use to pin prey against.

Re: Squid fishing charters
Does anyone know how far out do we need to go? I've never launched out of Santa Cruz but should be able to get out from moss landing.
