i hit melones on tuesday for 14 bass before an unplanned lure change. it is the lake i fish the most. it was free last year, that played a big part in my choice. i think the others are a bit higher right now.(i'm modesto area too) 8-)

Pardee is great for trout, kokes, and has a very underrated bass fishery. The state record smallmouth came out of pardee a year or 2 ago.

i am from the modesto area. there are so many foothill lakes around me it is hard to choose which one to go to, to go fishing. you have don pedro, tulloch, mcclure, mcswain, melones, cananche, new hoagan, and paradee. i know everybody has there opinons of each lake and has a favorite. what is yours. which in your opinion is the best bass, trout, or salmon lakes. i like catching all game fish. So my ideal lake would be one with all kinds of fish. i need to find my lake for this weekend
