Are you boat fishing or from bank?
Must be pretty good size fish to straighten hook.

Was hooking one every 4-5 casts on friday, could have had my first shad limit ever but these hooks on the luck'e'strike 1/32 jig heads are poor quality and kept straightening out. Ordered some 1/32 painted jig heads from ebay $8 for 100 + free shipping and it's suppose to have eagle claw #4 hooks so I'll have to give those a try when I get them later this week.

Plug-n-Jug and I fished the footbridge at Sunrise on Friday. The action was slow but I managed to land one, and a few other guys on the bridge got one or two. Fun time, and great day to be out on the water. Here's a pic. Shad 6-1-12.jpg

Went out fishing, first went to Rosemoor, no body was fishing over there at all, water is very shallow, then went to Sunrise in the late afternoon, had my wader on, moved a lot but cannot find any bite, there are few people fishing using blober from bank, did not see too many hookups. Moved down to the sand bar, find some deep water, first cast, got a fish, then nothing ....
I am planning to buy a boat now, will be mainly used for American river shad, or Salmon fishing, so it will need able to go through very shallow waters, I am thinking of 14 to 20 feet one, also I do a lot of ocean diving, any boat can do both?

    Thanks!

right on man, i relocate them also. i am a reptile guy. i have had all kinds of lizards and snakes. i was telling everyone the same thing. ive taken dozens off of the bike trail and road and moved them. they are vital to keeping the rodent populations down. fishing around folsom lake right now on the bank would be worse for rattlers. been around them my whole life and never been bitten, just watch your step, especially in morning or late evening and stay on the trail
