If you want to save yourself some time and shipping cost take those busted Shimano rods to Fishermans wherehouse and for $15 they will exchange it on the spot for you... If they have that same rod in stock.

I think only the sac store does and you need a receipt that plus I saved more money the way i did it cause shipping was free

They do it for shakespeare and okuma for $15 also. Anything with non-lifetime warranty requires receipt for instore exchange otherwise they file a claim and mail it in and you got to wait 2 months. I "THINK" okuma is $15 instore exchange with or without receipt since okuma is pretty relaxed about their warranty. I was told that okuma/shakespeare rod blanks cost about $4 to make since they are made in china so they have pretty chill warranties, the cork and the fuji reel seat are probably the most expensive parts of the rods.

I bought a broken clarus for $5 earlier this year and I took it to FW and got it warrantied for a new rod so now I have a new clarus for under $30.

They are owned by pure fishing company, same company that owns shakespeare. I hear shakespeare is pretty lax about things too, I read somewhere that someones ugly stik top off of their rod flew away and shakespeare honored the warranty exchange for just the bottom half of the rod even though it's clearly not due to workmanship/defect etc.

I give them 5 stars for there service, I had 2 veritas rods sent out a couple of weeks ago cause it was damaged and had no receipt for any of them just sent the 9.95 for each rod and got my 2 New rods back today no questions asked
