Re: Cobra Escape or Scrambler XT?

I lost track of my post, but found it just now. I ended up with the Cobra because of the rod holders. It's my first kayak, so, if I get into it, I'll like upgrade to an XT

I still haven't fished with my Cobra. Any kayak groups getting together go fishing in the Truckee area? I want to be cool like you guys, but want to be safe too. I would really appreciate someone showing or coaching me.

Re: Cobra Escape or Scrambler XT?

I have a Scrambler 11, and Matt (banker916) has the Scrambler XT. We love them, and fish them all over NorCal for multiple species. Its a great, stable platform for your first yak. I have added all kinds of goodies to mine for fishing.

    EDIT:

I have several writeups and videos of my scrambler in action on my blog if you are interested.

I'm also hoping to get a better price this time of the year, as opposed to getting one in the spring or summer. I doubt I'll fish in it over the winter. The risk of going into the water in these temperatures is too high. Is that right, or should I just wait for the spring?

I plan to fish for trout and bass in lakes and reservoirs. If I am comfortable with my skills, I might try rivers and the sloughs.

Thanks for your insight. Really appreciate it.
Did you get your kayak yet? I am also in the market for one as well. I want the hobie outback with the feet paddle but its too expensive.
