Re: Why not use jet divers for early season fish?

You could add a trolling weight to your topline pole, that should get you down to those early season fish. they're usually in the top 20 ft. of water early on.
If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. ~Doug Larson

I have used divers, the ones I have are the slide rite lite bite, it works fine, you can set it so that a smaller fish will trip, (so you don't drag it for an hour unknowingly) but you need a heavier rod. It kinds takes the sport out of it.
I have a couple small removable downriggers, they work pretty well, within their limits. They are the best way to go, all things considered

Why not use jet divers for early season fish?

I just got a boat and, will not be able to afford downriggers for a little while. I've heard some folks talk against jet divers and pink ladies. Why is that? Need enlghtenment.
