    Fisher-Munn,
They read this post last night and really enjoyed the pics and responses. They loved having everyone up there and can't wait for more of these! I have a feeling that this is going to grow into an even greater event next year! (if it is possible?)
TW, We will take you up on the meatballs and pasta for next time for sure. I am sure you would enjoy it there with all stories and can sandwiches! Take care and talk to you all soon

    Eric,

Your the man! nice job on the big fish! your group as expected did great. I take 3 derbies a year and dedicate them to my kids and there friends so I' m glad they placed but her friend came up short :'( You cant win them all I explained.Like ciffi said "kids are the future" and we had a lot of them, let's keep um coming. Can't wait till next year, I'm all over the BBQ Party next year,or when ever the next one is!!!! I'll participate and bring some Meatsauce - meatballs and pasta to go with those killer ribs you make
and all the kokanee beer your can drink.....or run out [smiley=beer.gif] Tell uncle troy to join the festivies next year, the derby is not tha same without him! Nice seeing all you guys at one place at the same time is a blast. It's like a frateriny party without the homework, just going to school on the kokanee. congrats to nate for kickin some butt and of course Mike tripp and g-vo for being consistanty on the top! Nice work sniffers

Cracker Jack - The purse for all of CIFFI's Fun Derbies (Collins, Pardee and Berryessa) are $1700 each. We pay down 10 places with first place being $500. Collins is a trout only derby but we also have a trout division in the other 2 derbies that awards merchandise prizes and a Junior division that awards gift cards totaling about $1000. *On top of that we have side pots that you can buy into for $10 with a 50-50 split.

Our big derby each year will be the New Melones Derby which will be July 11 and have a $10,000 purse thanks to our sponser San Juaquin Drywall. *If you are into Kokanee fishing you won't want to miss this one. *Check out www.kokanee.org for more info on how to sign up.

    Thanks for the interest

Congrats to all of our sniffers that placed. Me and Blue-by-U had a great time. We didn't catch a lot of fish, but the two we did got us close to pay off. Missed by three cm's. Oh well. Hope to see some sniffers up at Melones in a couple of weeks. Congrats to Connie for placing in the derby. Khahn you have your self a great looking new boat. Hope to see you all soon...

    Re: Berry fun derby

I fished with my dad, we got 11 kokes nothing big but a blast out there with him. We were invited to stay at the Wes and Lynn Grahams house Friday night. Located just outside the gates to Pleasure Cove. Had a fantastic BBQ that night with friends and family. Eric Graham aka Egrammer cooked up some fantastic ribs that night. JT provided the Kokanee beers from Oregon.

In our group, BigD, FisherMunn, Earl the Pearl, Egrammer, BigDan G, JT and few of Erics' cousins. Brians son won the JRs Kokanee divison. Eric Graham got 10th with 85.6cm, Nate got 8th and Eric also won the big King division. Way to go Eric. BigD finished just outside the $$.

All in all a great derby good weather and plenty of those big Kokanee were caught that Berryessa is know for. Till next year, see you guys on the water. Thanks Wes and Lynn for putting us up.

    Re: Berry fun derby

We had a good day for the derby with the kids, Brianna picked 2nd place in the jr. *trout division with a nice 18 3/4 in trout caught on a gold starlight dodger and a UL copper pop. Richie picked up 5th in the jr. kokanee division with a couple small kokes, the bahama mama from RMT and a RMT cotton candy hootchie picked up the most fish and the RMT watermelon dodger paired with a UV pink apex did good later on in the morning. 50-60 is were we picked up fish but i heard 70 ft for a few folks out there. It was definatly a slow bite compared to the last 3 weeks, a lot of people were struggling hard to get a bite , let alone a few fish, some real good fishermen tried hard and came up short but that proves that berry can be tough as well as rewarding. WE had a great time at the derby and the kids are once again happy and thankful for all the efforts CIFFI puts into all or there derbies. There were a lot of sniffers at the derby too, Na8luvs2fish, kokemachine83, backbrace17, fishintrippz, hightechkoke, JT, Big D, Earl the pearl, steeliedan, kokehunter, e grammer & grande dan g(NEVER GIVE UP), rodbender, fisher-munn, berryessa kid & jack, fisherwally and a whole lot *more. Well see you all at melones.

    connie and khahn

Good job on the big one, it eluded use yesterday, if only our trout was a koke(which we thought it was until we saw it) it might of been diferent, but you guys did great congrads on the win for connie !!!and the electric motor you lucky#@$%^&%$!!!!
