Re: Donners Calling My Name
Frank,
Tracker is right. Try in front of the condos. Set your lines at 40-45 feet in 90-100' of water. I caught one there, but where I really did well was across from the condos almost to China Cove, 60 feet down in 100-135'. The Kokes were mixed with the Mac's so you might catch both. ;D

Re: Donners Calling My Name
Thanks Tracker. We will probably only have a couple of hours to fish that Monday ('till noon unless we run into fish and then it could be all day
) so any help you can give us between now and next Thursday would be much appreciated.

Re: Donners Calling My Name
FF, I have fished Donner a few times in the last two weeks. We have been doing pretty good. Once you launch your boat, head to the left. You will start to see some condos and a lodge. I usually start fishing in front of the lodge. I am going on Sunday and if all goes we'll, I could probably get you a GPS cordinate to get you in the area, if that would help!

Re: Donners Calling My Name
PB and I are going to drop the boat in Donner on the way back from Pyramid (Monday, Oct 10th). We've never fished Donner so anything you post here could be detrimental to the fish population. :
If any body shows up on Donner that day look for a blue boat with STARS on it and swing by and say Hi.

Re: Donners Calling My Name
T-160 it was good meeting you for the first time. Think I've seen you up there before. Thanks for the offer of the glow tubes. Managed to catch 4 kokes, lost one while stuffing my face. Fishing makes me hungry. Also got one 18" Mac on the koke lures. Biggest Koke was a 17.5" hen the rest were all males in the 13-16" range. Was using small gold flashers and wedding rings, also the chrome dodger with the same set up worked too. I was surprised the wind didn't come up earlier. It was beautiful while it lasted. Poor T.S. Got home and got an e-mail from him and he's sick. Gotta be feeling bad when you can't make it out fishing.

Re: Donners Calling My Name
Good thing you didn't go today. What a slow day it was. Only came home with 1 14" and a 19" Mack. Probably because it was so hot today. Next week will probably be better. Lost a couple though. I met Mack The Ripper out there very nice guy. He was gettin close to I think 3 or 4 to at least 17. Wind picked up at around lunch then it was howlin pretty viscious.
