I have looked at those and I am partial to the I-Pilot Rip Tide 70 or 80# thrust. I have gone round and round with this and I have settled on the rip tide. It covers the types of fishing that I am going to do. I am very close to making my purchase as I have been waiting on a check from a certain job I did and then it's project happiness commencement. I have purchased a Vance's Spiral rod and a Tica Caiman KT 150 and a nice start on the lures, dodgers, hooks, hootchie skirts, jigs etc....This time of year is always the hardest, waiting for spring....I am planning to get out there before March so I can get my routine down with the lanch ramp, lake locations and downrigger techniques. I apologize for the rambling on but I am excited like a little kid....Don

Trolling speed can truly vary with the kokanee fishing. When using squid baits we troll from 0.6-1.4 mph, but some baits like the faster speeds closer to 2 mph, such as Hum Dingers pulled behind sling blade dodgers. You can always try to hook up with some of us that spend the summers obsessed with chasing the Kokes! I can't wait for spring time to get here again.
