    I cant remember how many times at BP I see Huge Rays snap mine and other fellow fisher line. I HATE THOSE THINGS.... >

    Keep it up MM and pretty soon you'll have some Popeye forearms! I hooked what must have been a 70+ pounder at least last week at BP (wingspan at least 1.5 times the diameter a typical 3 foot crab ring) on 12# line on a medium light spinning rod. i actually somehow snagged him in the rear. Great fight for 25 minutes but really tiring (my arms are still sore). All I wanted was to get my lure back but i couldn't land him using the crab net (wouldn't fit) and he eventually snapped my line.

    More Alameda Bat Rays

    I fished my same spot tod from 10:00am-4:00pm today and caught 3 rays and lost 1. Two of the rays were 8-10lbs and the big one was 63lbs with a 46" wingspan. I also saw a big jellyfish.
