So i recently went to pillar point pier in half moon bay and i didnt catch anything but either way when i go to capitola and santa cruz wharf, i normally get lots or small shiner perch and rockfish(nonkeepers) and like 2 or 3 under one pound perch. I have been told that there are better ways than that i currently fish.(sabiki with shrimp) so yeah what do you guys use on piers and surf fishing for perch, flounder, jacksmelt/topsmelt, and that kinda stuff smallish fish(under 4 pounds)
