Re: Okuma Avenger AF645
I have a ABF40 and ABF65, both are solid reels. Spare spool that comes with it is nice too. I've owned them for only a year so it's still too soon to develop a personal opinion on the life of the reel but so far they have not had any issues or needed part replacements.
I guess the one of the big things about having a shimano is being able to get the parts from fishermans warehouse instead of having to call okuma to have parts mailed. I wouldn't be able to justify shipping charges even if the replacement parts were free for a reel that is $45 new.

I got my father a okuma baitfeeder for fathers day he loves it.The one I got him was the ABF 65.The okuma baitfeeder is a good reel. The drag system in my opinion is very smooth i have used my fathers and it is a very solid reel. You well enjoy it.

Okuma Avenger AF645
Fished a shimano baitrunner for over 10 years. Always loved it do striper, saltwater game and the like. This Christmas I was given an okuma bait feeder. I know the okuma is much more cost conscientious, but also thought okuma was supposed to be fairly solid. Any thoughts? Should I pony up the $100 more and stick with my ol faithful?
