Well we went down Fri afternoon and hit the sack early so we could beat the crowds at the ramp Sat. News flash, no crowds in Monterey ;D We headed south and set up around Mulligan and started fishing around 6:30am. First fish came on GoneFishingRon's rod, a nice 14 pounder 8-) Caught on a pink and white hoochie behind a red flasher. An hour later we boated another one, on the same set up but on my rod both were caught at 60' on the wire in 280' of water. After that we kept getting hits but none stuck :-/ Sunday after the time change we still did the early thing, and were the first to launch, headed back to the same spot and missed 3 in a row and then it went dead for a while. Heard a report of lots of bait in 180' of water so we headed that way. When we got there the fleet was banging them. We got in the water, I changed to a FBR behind a flasher and stuck on a herring. Bam, fish on, and in the box, was about 15lbs. Next fish was Hammer's, he was using a white hoochie with a big old herring in it, lots of action the rest of the day, lots of scratched baits and we ended up with 4 total. Great time on the water with Ron and Les, lots of jabbing all day, lots of funny stuff. Going back as soon as the weather clears, the freezer looks better too ;D ;D
