I was anaware of the superstitions regarding bananas on a boat.
I am not a superstitious guy, however if it improves my chances of catching fish the bananas will stay home. ;D

There are alot of stories regarding bananas and bad luck on the web. The superstitions go back hundreds of years.

Superstition has it that bringing Bananas on board is bad luck.* This has been discussed before but probably won't be retrievable so google it if you want more info.

On one occasion when I first bought my boat, took 4 of my grandkids out fishing.* We must have moved about 5 times without a bite.* On the 5th move, the boat lost speed so that I couldn't get on plane but fortunately I got back to the launch. But after I loaded the boat I noticed the the kids eating bananas*the wife packed in their lunches .*

The second time a banana was brought on board, we didn't get even a nibble all day and when I pulled up anchor the motor wouldn't start.* Was fortunately towed in and again after the boat was loaded, I noticed my fishing buddy for that day was eating a banana.

I'm not superstitious but why chance another breakdown* :-/**

So now, I discourage anyone bringing bananas on my boat*

Tried everything and everywhere all day today on the Napa river. Just wasn't in the cards today. Tried from the Towers to Napa with only 2 shakers. :-[ Saw a bank fisherman with a keeper sturgeon under the Butler Bridge and another group with 3 keepers. One boat with a 7lb striper and another barely a keeper. At times saw tons of fish on the finder, however they had lock jaw for us. That's fishin !!!!
