Re: Line Size for Big Macs

10-12lb mono main line and then a 8lb leader for trolling deep.

    Re: Pyramid in a Boat

A buddy of mine was there a few weeks ago. Trolled for them in 30-50 feet and caught and released 16 fish. All over 24".

    Good luck.

    Re: Any Lake berryessa reports

What was the water temp on the surface? Those fish might be pushed down a little deeper in the 30 foot range. Slow trolling crawlers would be my suggestion this time of year.

    Re: Sf halibut

I would think the best chance would be in the south bay where the water is all salt. Should be some holding over.

Re: Camanche, do they allow 2 strokes?

I totally understand. Please don't take it personally. I didn't mean to offend you by saying that. I know it's not cheap to repower and I know what "budget" is. I have two boys playing travel...

    Try this link.

I did not see anything regarding Lake Comanche. But if you scroll down the list to San Luis Reservoir, it'll show the memo posted...

Re: Camanche, do they allow 2 strokes?

Before my new four stroke, I ran a Yamaha HPDI 2001 model year and it was not an issue. It had a 3 Star CARB rating.

Maybe just call them and see.

    Various Fishing Nets

Had five nets now down to the final two. One is a rubber net and the other is a standard net. They are for sale cheap. I’m in Milpitas.

Re: Slow out there SJ ...

That’s crazy people are shooting pistols out there. Yikes!!

At least with us duck hunters the pellets won’t hurt as they fall back down to the ground. And the last day of the season is 1/29.

Re: Question on Trolling Motor Battery

Your just running one battery? I'd check the battery and get a hydrometer and check each cell. You should get more than two hours on a battery even if your running the trolling motor hard it hard.

    Re: Scotty electric downrigger

I have scotty’s and prefer them over the cannon. I’ll,e the rod holder mount since it’s on the boom and not the back of the motor. It gets the rod outside of the boat for leaning and walking in the...

    Re: What boat to buy

If your primary fishing grounds are lakes, then that is the way to go. Plenty of room on them.

    Re: Recommendations for sturgeon guide

Wrap the roe with a mesh or nylon then tie it off with some elastic thread. The roe will last awhile and won’t fall apart in the current or during the cast. Plenty of how to videos on YouTube.

I’d go with Capt Zack of Gate Crashers fishing charters.

Re: Slow day on the SJ

It’s been slow. I fished the lower SJ on Tuesday for sturgeon and stripers and nothing. If you can’t get a shaker to bite on anchovies, you know they have lock jaw.

    Re: Niners Thread

All three of those games were won or loss by a field goal. So it should be a good match up in the playoffs. But it wouldn't be exciting if they weren't good matchups.

Thanks for the info. I just might plan a trip during winter break in Feb. My boys and I would enjoy getting into some big ones.
