    Guess I need to update my vocabulary..... I was talking about steelhead or 1/2 pounders as many call them (apparently)

    Salmon season doesn’t open until mid-July, so if by “Springers” you’re referring to spring run Salmon, then you would be in violation. If you meant late season Steelies then like QAR said just be sure your card is filled out. Typically when someone says “springers” they are referring to Salmon.

    Sorry, bad quality pic. Refer to page 25 and 26 in freshwater reg book. But yeah..spring run chinook commonly referred to as "springers".

    I don't really target steelhead this time of year, but I have hooked some nice incidental fish while throwing suspending jerkbaits for stripers during the summer.

    I think troutbead thinks your referring to spring run salmon which are commonly referred to as "Springers"...
    You can fish for steelhead, just take and fill out your card

    Just read the regs on the AR...what do you mean self report???? Season open until October. Am I missing something??

    Springers in the AR

    Anyone still fishing for steelies in the AR?? I saw a guy catch a few last weekend while I was hunting stripers. I think I am going out this weekend and chasing some springers
