Clouser minnow pattern in white with some chartreuse is the Anchovy imitation equivalent of white pickups at the sportsman show. They're everywhere, and work well.

    Fly of choice for halibut?

I'm going to try my luck fly fishing next week in Tomales Bay for halibut. The last time I caught a halibut on a fly was just below the Coronado Bridge in San Diego. We were drifting and I was tossing a hand tied chartreuse clouser on sinking line. It hit pretty good and it went 23". That was a few years ago. So, I'm going to give it a try up north next weekend.
