Re: Is it safe to eat clams from INNER Bodega Bay?

Be sure to also check the biotoxin hotline before your trip or before you go out, I wouldn't expect any blooms in December but climate is an odd duck. CDPH hotline: (800) 553-4133 they don't specifically report on many species of bivalves but if there's any advisories on crab, mussels or whatever for the area at least you can heed caution. Be safe!

Alright I emailed the rangers, they didn't comment on how clean they are that far back in the bay, but said they are safe to eat.

"Hello, I hope I am not too late in responding to your recent email. Clams and crabs are safe for consumption here at Bodega Bay. The time period for the mussel quarantine is May-October

Is it safe to eat clams from INNER Bodega Bay?

I got an airbnb waterfront in Bodega Bay this December.

I was wondering if steamer clams would be safe this far back in the bay? If there is a large rain I'm not going to bother and just try to use my Hoop Net/Crab Snares.

Its next to this crazy looking house, not sure I can cast all the way to the channel, maybe I'll kayak over and drop a hoop net down the side of the channel. https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/1...zpid/?mmlb=g,7
