Re: Anything happening on the American

I went out today for a few hours at Sailor Bar. I didn't catch anything but a guy across the river on the hatchery side caught 3, lost 2, and got 1 all within 30 minutes that I saw. I was using roe, Mad River worms, and beads at times. I saw a couple jumping in front of me, no luck today though.

I fished the American yesterday for 6 Hours . Started at the Parking lot at sailor bar and worked Downstream to the Island where the Riffles start and then Back . Saw a few Fish Jumping early am . I started at 9am , I had Hopes . they where Nice size . Also I stopped before I fished at the Hatchery and did see some come up and there are some in the Holding pen . Large and nice fish along with smaller fish
Now Back to the report .....
I did manage to hook up with a half pounder , but she spit the hook . Had me going However !
I did see One other person hook a Half Pounder . Chrome as hell. Bit on a drifted Worm
Out side that . I was a great day . great weather and Fishing Sucked.
Got a Sore Back, sore arm and the seagulls were in full force, Lucky for me I got away clean . ducks all over the place .... Nature at It`s best .

Re: Anything happening on the American

Quick update. Spent a couple of hours on the hatchery side today. Tried a variety of weights and colors of spoons as well as drifting a single egg artificial for nothing. Saw one hook up but lost. I saw numerous steelhead swim past me though. In one chute I saw around 6 to 9 swim a few feet from me. Most looked in great shape and were varying sizes. They are in there.

Looks to be pretty slow around Sailor Bar lately. I've only been out a couple of times throwing spoons for zilch. I have not seen much action when walking the dog over there, either. I'm sure they are there.

There was actually action today at a few spots I checked in at. Last week, I hadn't heard of much going on.
