East Carson 9-19-12

After my last trip up there, when I spoke with Todd at the resort and he told me they have the money to keep stocking the big fish all the way through October, I'm hoping to get up there at least once more! ICR could turn on anytime now, and the East Carson with hardly any anglers on the banks is a always nice. Bob

I have had so much good fishing in that area!
Iggy...I have had times at that hole when it was SLOW....But I have almost always caught someting even if it was small....
My mom and I are going to be planning a trip in Oct up there ...it's always great to fish with her.

The East Carson has been good to me for sure this year.
I was up there yesterday 9-26 and I cannot tell you how many fish I caught and released. The later in the day the better the fish.
No pictures as I was by my self. There were other people there but I wasn't with a friend so to hard to get photos. I did catch and release a nice 5lb trout. Longer then my fore-arm. finger tip to elbow.... all folks fishing in the hole were shocked I let it go and all my other fish as well. Late in the afternoon I was the only one there and I tell ya...it was on....serious fishing explosion.

Marinpaul......lol about the snake! I don't even like snakes! Fish I will touch and deal with all day long but I dont care for snakes....that guy was so tiny though! I couldn't resist picking him up for a minute.

Nice fish! I'm still in a big fish drought this season, but I've still got some time before it's over. I saw a couple nice fish in that pool your standing in when I was up there early this month, but they weren't biting what I was using.......

Very nice Trout Chick. East Carson can be very nice. I'm beginning to like it more and more. Those are beautiful trout. Should be a few more good days up there before the snow flies. Thanks for the post.

So I am forum challenged! lol So this is just a few fish from the other day. I have fished the East Carson about 3 times on different day with complete successful catch and release of nice fish. I got to use a friends fly rod and caught my first fish on a fly rod ever! However.....the photos you see all the fish were caught on a spin rod with a sneaky little set up that they were w"wild" after! None the less....good fishing good times and a lovely adventure.

Well I missed out on a lot of early summer fishing due to jeeping through the Rubicon and work of course. So I have had to play a little catch up! I have fished at Caples with not much luck. Fished the West Carson over the last month and had some luck but mostly planters and only a few bigger fish.
I have recently fished a bunch on the East arson with much good luck! Here are a few photos showing some of the fish I successfuly caught and released.
