Very nice. Those are beautiful browns. The big one is beautiful. Fall is here and the river browns are doing what they do.

Awesome, that fish has a bulldog head!!!! What a beast, and all the sweeter in moving water too. Glad to see he'll fight another day.

    Monster brown!

Fished the upper AR looking for big rainbows but was pleasantly surprised to find a good amount of browns. They look like they're stacking up in the tail end of the riffle areas, getting ready to spawn. Overall I caught 8-10 fish, all a pretty good size too with the exception of the one rainbow I was forced to keep. I tried out a size 12 brown crystal bugger and a 1/8 oz silver little cleo and got a smack on both, but nothing stuck. I also tried beefy 2" tube jigs with no avail. I ran into to a fly fisherman who lost a pan size rainbow at the bank. He was using a leech pattern with a sinking line.

Worked the bank and, in doing so, ended up walking a few miles along the rocky slopes, moving from hole to hole. After catching some rainbows and 13" browns I hooked into a big rainbow that came off the hook (I'd estimate 18"). Decided to go home and hit a hole I caught a brown out of earlier one more time and was rewarded with my biggest trout yet. An extremely nail-biting fight in a swift current with jagged rocks when using 5lb test. When I caught her in the net, I couldn't believe it... I really caught her! A very mature hook-jaw German brown. I could almost fit my fist inside it's mouth! She literally had fangs and the thickest jawbone I've every seen on a trout. And the best part... CATCH AND RELEASE!

I feel very proud that my 3 years of scouting, practice, and love for fishing have lead me to find places like the ones I go to and catch fish like the MONSTER BROWN I caught today. AWESOME!

    Now for the good stuff

    the release
