Great week Richard and thanks for the report. This is also my favorite time of year. I can't make it up there this Fall but as you know, I'll be in Idaho for my daughter's wedding in three weeks and will be fishing the Big Wood River and Silver Creek for two days. Some day I'll have to drag you up there. As for now, I'm just counting the weeks before I move over your way. Based on your chronicles over the last several years, is there any wonder why a fisherman would want to live there.

Thing was that there were a ton of fish showing on the FF, but we were thinking more of them were golden trout (carp). We saw them jumping all over the place. The opener should be fun as the Captain was saying they were gonna start planting heavy in the followin months before Jan 1st......Jetspray

Fabulous post and photos as usual.

We thought we would run into the Captain, but apparently we were just ahead of you or behind you. We too had great fishing on the West Carson and our biggest on the East Carson. Possibly the biggest ever caught there for us. Many 4-5 lbs. We must have caught and released 40+ fish today of all sizes. Kept two this time as they didn't appear they would make it. We now are trying not to even take them out of the water--but then no photos to speak of.

Beautiful fall day, but we did get hard rain on the way home.

09/28/12 - Arrived at Crystal Springs shortly before 0630 to
find Mariahpup all ready there. Got a nice 4# fish on my 3rd
cast. There were to be a few more. Marinpaul arrived around
0830 with RideNfish. They were camped on the East Fork and
had luck there earlier in the morning. Fish were had by all.
Paul and Doug moved on and Bill and I headed up to the Mail
Box Hole by Sorensens. As we went up 88 we past the DFG
stocking truck. When we arrived at the bridge we found DFG
planters mixed in with the County plant. Couldn't get past
the little guys to get to the big guys. After Coffee and
cookies at the Hope Valley Resort Bill headed back to
Stockton and I back to the Carson Valley. Bill and Paul it
was nice fishing with you guys again. Nice to finally get to
    fish with you Doug.

Come on up folks. The days are warm and the nights are cool.
The trees are turning their fall colors. The rivers are low
but full of fish. This is the start of the best time of the
    year. Next stop Pyramid.

    Re: Trout Week (Pictures)

09/27/12 - Arrived at Jetspray's man cave at 0645 and
headed to the West Carson just above Woodfords. On this
windy morning we scrambled down the rocks. On my third cast
I caught a pretty 6# + bow. We caught a total of 5 bows here.
We decided to take a look at the East Carson. We went up
to the Highway 4 Bridge to find it very crowded. Not wanting
to join the crowds we took a pass here. Yesterday I had received
a PM from Bigdewy saying that he and his wife were doing one last
camping trip before winter at ICR. We visited with Duane, his wife
and their little weener dog BG. They were camped in the walk in
camping area. ICR is a beautiful campground. After this it was
back down to the Carson Valley. Duane it was nice meeting you and
your wife. And your little dog too. I'll let you tell how the
    fishing was.
