The leaves up on 88 are past their peak. The leaves along 89, in Markleeville and along the East Carson are peak. Spent Saturday in Markleeville and in Genoa, NV. Beautiful. Met this biker dude taking in the colors with his "biker chick" in Genoa.

Beautiful pictures and fish, as usual. I look forward to my first LCT. They look very powerful and I love their colors. Can't beat those short day trips.

Wanted to fish Heenan last Friday but Monitor pass was closed
But by Friday afrernoon it was open. Decided to hit closing day
on Sunday. Made a couple other stops as well.

When I arrived at the HWY 89/4 junction the sign said that
Ebbits Pass was closed but that Hwy 4 was open an additional 7
miles I decided to go up the East Carson an do some pre sunrise
fishing. Arrived at the Hwy 4 bridge at 0715 and went down stream
for a few casts. It was a cold windless morning with no one else
on the river. Using small plastics in a little over an hour I got
12 lively stocker bows. Next stop Heenan. I arrived there at 0840
and headed down to the dam. Fished the dam area for a little less
than 2 hours and caught two trout. These were beautiful LCT of 20
and 23 inches. The lake was warm in the sun with a light SE breeze.
I expected more fishermen for a beautiful Sunday but few were
there. On my way home I took a short cut via ICR for a look. Again
It was a beautiful late Sunday morning with few fishing. Those
fishing had nearly full stringers of smallish bows. I made a couple
of casts with the barbless Kastmaster I was using at Heenan and
soon caught a small LCT. I quit while I was ahead and headed home.
It was a beautiful Fall day and I was home for lunch.
