It has two ways to reach it, this time of year it's campground is closed. You can fish from the north end by the dam area. No facilities though so be ready for that........Jetspray

Didn't want to crawl over rocks today. Been fishing there alot. Probably go up there later in the week. Those fish will still be there. No serious pressure this time of year.

    Silver, Caples, ICR (Pictures)

A quick breakfast at Mickey D's and I head up to the Ranchos to
pick up Great Grandpa Peterson (Jetspray). Then it's up 88 to
the high country. My intended goal was to fish the spillway at
Caples but the little parking lot was covered in around 3 feet
of snow. Continued on 88 for a look at Silver. The water here
was very low so we took a pass on fishing. Back to Caples where
we fished at the corner of the dam for an hour or so. The lake
was low and the weather beautiful. There were fish around but
they werent all that interested in what we had. Dave did get a
small one on green Gulp and snapped off a nicer fish. Back over
the pass and down the W. Carson where we made a brief stop at
the bottom to check conditions. The fall colors were at peak
and the river packed with trout. We moved on to ICR. Here there
was a moderate west wind but the lake was fishable. In 1 1/2
hours fishing we managed 20 more trout between us. These were
all fairly small with a mix of bows and LCT. They came on green
Gulp and 1/4 oz gold Kastmasters. The lake is packed with trout.
This bodes well for the spring. Dave, as usual it was a pleasure
fishing with you. Maybe next time we can swing by and pick up
Damien. I know that he's less than a week old but you are never
too young for your first trout. :
