Dad and I got to markeley cove at 8am and quickly discovered the ramp was ice. My truck literally slide down a couple feet towards the water. And I barely drove my truck back up in four wheel drive. Anyways, searched just about all the southern shoreline for any signs of trout chasing shad with no luck. Then switched to trolling shad colored rapalas(4 rods) around skiers cove. We saw a lot of bass fishermen on the water and spoke with a few who said they were catching a few bass, so we decided to give up on trout and start for bass. Crazy thing is, I was fishing with jigs and a trout grabbed my jig just under the boat. Gave up at 1pm. Nice day on the water, just very cold. I assume the temperature is just too cold and it needs to warm up to turn the trout back on. Good luck!
