One bite, one 1# 10 oz Rainbow, no HNS, LDR, SDR. Bill Crooks joined me and 15 other SIR/Jolly Hookers for a non-derby outing at Camanche. It was a tough day. We’re continuing to blame it on the cold weather. Bill and I trolled most of the day on the electric motor at 1.1-1.5 mph. We tried everything in the tackle box from the surface down to 25’. The one fish we got was at one color of lead core with a 60’ mono leader on a two-hook 1.5” orange/white Apex with Trophy Trout gel & a Power Bait rainbow nugget. We bait fished two different locations for about an hour for nothing. 6 hours (6:45-12:45). Three locations (North Shore launch area/bay, narrows, bridge). 14 miles. Water 49.3-50.4*, semi-clear to clear. Air 36-55*. Sky clear. Wind 0-3 mph. Sunrise 7:19, % moon visible 76%. 20 other boats on the water. A slow day at Camanche.

At our weigh-in Art Sutter was 1st with 1# 14 oz Rainbow on a white Kripplure at 3’ at 2.6 mph. I was 2nd with the 1#, 10 oz. Rene Villanueva was 3rd with a 1#, 4 oz Rainbow on a Dick Nite 1” copper/chartreuse at 3-4’ 2-2.3 mph 150’ back. Nelson Wong was 4th also with 1# 4 oz fish on an orange grub naked 100’ back at 0.8 mph. I believe our group caught a total of 7 Rainbows, a very slow day!
