With all those fees you have spent close to $30 bucks before your boat is wet.
Sounds like you have been to DelValle. That place is a little over priced with the new inspection fee .[/quote]
Thats for any EBMUD lake. Funny but I do better fishing from the bank at DV than from the boat. That saves some bucks right there.
I hope the trout kick in at NM or at Berry soon.

Re: New Melones Anyone?
It's good to see the positive responses, maybe it is the lower gas prices after all. *With the lake level down, there may be some treasures out there. *I don't think it has been this low in a few years! *We need to pray for a good winter.
I know $8 isn't mush and $60 for the season is quite good but, it was promised to us that it would be free when they built it.
I will get out there soon, my son is asking when I will be done with the landscaping. *Plus, I am still trying to eat up all the salmon and halibut from Alaska.
Good luck guys!

Re: New Melones Anyone?
We haven't been out in several weeks but Melones is way low right now and I haven't heard of any thing happening.
One happy thought just popped into my head. Since they have to lower Tulloch, does that mean they will have to lower the amount that is running out of Melones?

Good luck. If the weather isn't too bad we just might see you there.

Re: New Melones Anyone?
steveo79: I can do that for you!!! I don't mind the rain this weekend, it's just the wind that might keep me away. No fun trolling in that. So it looks like the top 20' should get me into some fish. Was thinking between the spillway and the dam first, then head up river. I'll post something when i get back. Hopefully a picture of trout on my new limit stick.

Re: New Melones Anyone?
My boat is out of service at the moment, but I wouldn't be afraid of hitting Melones. I've managed to put a few in the boat most every time I fished for trout there, sometimes when the Kokes would not cooperate, sometimes when I just just fishing for them. there just isn't the numbers like in some other lakes, and it doesn't seem like it's going to get better any time soon.... It would be interesting to see the lake after not being on it since July.
Wonder how long until the old 49 bridge rears it's ugly head...so much for up river after that. Robbie, if you got up there, could you get a depth reading?

Re: New Melones Anyone?
Robbie-
Good luck at Melones this weekend. A buddy of mine went out last week on a combo trout/bass trip between the bridges. They were skunked after about 2 hours of bass fishing, so they decided to start trolling for trout much earlier than expected. After 1.5 to 2 hours of trolling (dodger w/wedding ring and night crawler and dodger/needlefish, top to 20'), they ended up with 3 ranging from 2-3 pounds. Only problem was, all 3 were bass.

Re: New Melones Anyone?
A few months ago you would have spent that on Gas. I'm going to pay the $60 at the first of the year for a season pass. That way i don't have to worry about it. Looks like i'm headed up there this weekend!!!

Re: New Melones Anyone?
There is a post a couple of pages back from a week ago. It was not promising from Iron-man & Captain Oxbow. Water temps are in the mid 60's with a chance of rain this coming weekend. Good luck to all that give this one a try.
