    Folsom Lake September 30

Went out his morning with Erle to try for some trout on Folsom. Launched about 7:15 in a steep wind. Started over the island at the northwest end of the dam and headed across the face into the wind, going southeast. Lime and white Uncle Larry's on one side, with a fire tiger Uncle Larry's on the other, no blades. Into the wind was about 3/4 mph, with one lure at 25 ft and the other at 45 feet. Got to the power lines on the southeast side of the dam, and turned northeast toward Brown's Ravine--nothing. So for fun I decided to turn back northwest toward Beales, with the wind at my back. It filled up the DC with the top up like a sail, and kicked me up to 1.25 mph. You guessed it--takedowns on both lures, and two nice trout about 14-15 inches. Another quick take down as soon as I got back down, for a total of three. Then nothing, like a switch was thrown. Made three identical passes, and nothing. Then we went up to Browns and trolled back and forth past the island and through the "inlet" just northeast of Browns' Ravine, but nothing.
All in all, a fun time with fair fishing.
    Kevin
