Re: del valle 4/30
Vo,
Dirty30, no boat today? What happened to Del Valle?
Troutboy was in Cabo chasing Marlins and yellowtail >
so I had to bank it. Can't wait to hear from him though. Both of us ordered some Trout Unlimited pontoons last week....can't wait for them to arrive ;D
Yeah.....about 4 weeks ago, it was awesome fishing. The guy I spoke to yesterday was the same person that was out there that other weekend....he was saying that the lake totally turned over. Weird...the winter bite was sooooo good IF the water was clear.....now the water is fine but much much warmer. We just got way too much rain. Gonna have to head to the north end and fish deeper waters now.

Dirty30, no boat today? What happened to Del Valle? It was hot a few weeks back. I was afraid of this, winter becoming summer and the bite turning off. Hopefully it will turn around or else they're in the north end.

Re: del valle 4/30
I was on the south shore banking it....water is clear but the bite was off. Talked to a person I had met out there a few weeks ago. Him and his buddy were on their pontoons since 6:00 AM today....no trout. He didn't see anyone pulling in any fish either. I walked the bank and didn't see many stringers.

Phisherman44, too bad on a slow day. Did you anchor anywhere or mostly trolled? How's the water clarity in the South end?

del valle 4/30
wanted to break in my new spinning reel so i went out to Del Valle today. Started trolling at 9 with white and rainbow needlefish..Around nine -thirty some jerk came up behind me fast, slowing just enough to catch my line with the rainbow needlefish, and then speed away with lure attached..This happened to me at Camanche last weekend and is so frustrating cuz i see these people eventually stopping to troll. Arrgh. Anyways i didnt get anything til 12:24 when i was getting ready to pack it in. Got one line out of the water when the other rod with rainbow buoyant kinda fell over. When i picked up the rod and put some tension to it i thought i had snagged a log or rock cuz there was weight but no "fishy" response whatsoever. I began backing up to see what could be done when the snag began to thump its tail. About a minute later i netted the 4 lb rainbow after a really unimpressive fight. The fish seemed to have some gill and tail formation problems and was bleeding from running into the trolling motor(ouch) so i decided to keep it..gave it away at the marina.
Nice day but slow..may be time to save for next years boat rentals
