Good report! Mariapup and I thought about you guys. You weren't all that far from us but we already covered a lot of ground. As you know, more driving is less wet line time![]()

Thanks for the report! Those are some nice fish, sounds like you had a lot of fun.
It was hot out today and I can understand why some might consider taking off their PFDs. Nevertheless, standing on a canoe without it on is pushing it. I promised my kid to always wear mine.![]()
I had spent most of last week looking for trout in my part of the world with little luck. Received a PM from Atavuss who said that he had done well at Indian Creek on Thursday off his Hoby Cat and was intending to go back on Friday to give it a try in his 15 foot Gregor. Would I join him? Heck yes! In previous years a boat of that size with all the toys wouldn't have been able to launch at this lake. This year with the water a mere 5 feet from the top it was a piece of cake to launch at the ramp at the day use area. Met with Ed a little after 0600 and we headed out. Trolling on the top with 1/4 oz gold Kastmasters and other small spoons we C&Rd 30 trout including 4 doubles. This was good seeing we were only trolling with two rods. The weather was hot when the lake glassed off but usually there was a gentle breeze to cool things off. There was one gentleman in a canoe, sans PFD, who was fishing standing up. Perhaps Weez can tell us why this is a bad idea. Around 1400 Ed dropped me on shore because my arm grew tired reeling in these feisty fish. He may be out there still adding to his numbers. Thanks for taking me along Ed. It was a real treat to troll this one of my favorite local lakes. I hear it will be even hotter on Sunday. Perhaps I'll be out there again.
