What about san pablo reservoir? A few friends of mine launch their boats there and do very well with trout and its not far from the east bay.

+1 to R&f. I'd also be watching some of the other foothill lakes as well, such as Comanche, NM, New Hogan, etc..

    Need a new trout spot

Downriggers aren't any problem. I regularly am trolling 80-120 ft deep in Berryessa for Kings when the kokes don't want to play nice.

As long as it is within about 120 miles or so, I'm open to giving anything a try.

    Need a new trout spot

I used to go to Del Valle for trout but with all the stripers there now, it seems a little useless to even try. I have been going to Berryessa for Kokes the last two years with mixed success and want to get back on the trout this winter. I live in the east bay and have a boat with a 115hp four stroke, so Del Valle is really the only close lake that allows boats like mine. But with the 10 mph speed limit and all the fees, it is just another reason to look elsewhere. Anyone have some ideas?
