Welcome to the forum CS. Trout are cold water fish and you have to wait until the water is much cooler. You can watch for plant schedules and that will tell you when the lake is cool enough. That is why most of the current reports are high in the Sierras. It will be to you soon though.

Thanks for posting and we are looking forward to you reports.

Have you ever considered going somewhere else? Maybe Lake Chabot, Del Valle, or even driving up to the Delta? Those may be better options.
My dad and I went to CCF for some catfish and bluegill. We got our limit of bluegill and caught 1 catfish. I'm just determined to catch something at Quarry Lakes xD. I keep saying "never-again" during the 3-4 times that I've gone there (skunked), but makes me want to go back there.

If your bank fishing it may be tough for the trout. Come Nov. It should start getting time to hit the bank at that lake.
A bad fisherman will leave trash and take fish.

How to catch trout/fish at Quarry Lakes?

Hey everyone! I've been a lurker here for a while and finally decided to make an account. I've been to quarry lakes maybe 3-4 times this summer and I did not catch anything! I tried using night crawlers for trout and chicken liver for catfish with no success. School starts soon on Sep 27 and I want to catch JUST ONE fish from Quarry Lakes. I've done some research and I just bought a gold kastmaster as well as powerbait. I'm familiar with the rigs. I think I'm doing everything right. However, I remember fishing 25-35 paces to the right of the boat launch dock and there were weeds when I pulled my line back in. Is it because I'm fishing at the wrong location? I'm going to try to make my bait float( my nightcrawler sinks to the bottom since I don't have a worm blower). If anyone has any tips, please help me! I'll promise to take a picture of my first fish at Quarry! =]
