Re: FWG Tackle: Central Oregon Sportsmen's Show
We made it back safely from Redmond, Oregon after a wonderful show. The folks in that area indeed live in Kokanee Mecca: Lake Billy Chinook, Crescent, Odell, Paulina, East Lake, Wickiup, and Suttle - simply amazing fisheries. More and more fishermen are switching to use downriggers so they can cover more water than just by jigging. We made a bunch of new friends which added greatly to the whole experience.
Right now in Oregon you can only fish with one rod, so a significant effort is being made to change that to the two rod lake stamp as we have in California. Limits would remain the same, but revenue would increase.
Redmond was a quality show with great people. We look forward to seeing everyone next year.

Re: FWG Tackle: Central Oregon Sportsmen's Show
Had another great day at the Sportsmen's Show here in Redmond. *It was one of those days you could see the 3 Sisters, Mt. Bachelor, Mt. Jefferson, and the spine of the Cascade Range - all covered with snow. *Just awesome. *We expect the big crowds today, so am glad JZell is here to help.
Last night some of us kokanee folks went out for some buffalo burgers and such. *Brian (Fall River Guy) was able to join us, along with the Oregon Kokanee Power Guys (Greg, Don, and another Brian), also Gary Mirales of Shasta Tackle, JZell, and Terry the rep from Scotty Downriggers.
No arrests.
Looking forward to another great day.

FWG Tackle: Central Oregon Sportsmen's Show
Greetings from Redmond Oregon. We are up here at the Central Oregon Sportsmen's Show (COSS) now through Sunday March 8. The facilities are fantastic at the Deschutes Fair and Expo Center. We are in Hooker Creek Arena (love that name !!) in booth 133.
We had a great day yesterday. These folks are blessed with many, many lakes and reservoirs holding good populations of kokanee. And guess what? There are a great many "koke hounds" here as well. I here for the first time presented the new Gold Offset Recurve Blade in Emerald Green, one in Pink, and another in Purple. I love hearing them "Wows !!"
It has been cold outside with snow flurries, but that does not seem to dampen the spirits of this beautiful town.
Our good friends at Oregon Kokanee Power have their booth just around the corner from mine. Also our good friend Gary Mirales is here from Shasta Tackle.
We look forward to another fun day today. Penny found where the mochas are sold. ;D
Tonight after the show a bunch of us kokanee folks (many from ifish.net) will be gathering for dinner and that shold be a blast. Our good friend John Zell from Portland (jzell on the fishsniffer boards) will be helping out at our booth on Saturday and Sunday.
If you are in the area, plan to drop by booth 133. The show here is smaller, but the quality is outstanding.
Will keep you posted.
Gary
