Fort Bragg

Location:  Historic Fort Bragg is the major recreational and commercial fishing port in Mendocino County and is famous for hosting the “World’s Largest Salmon Barbecue” every Fourth of July weekend. 

King Salmon:  The season this year opened on April 6  and will continue until November 10, 2013. The limit is 2 salmon per day of any species except coho. The minimum size limit: 20 inches total length.

Dungeness Crab: The season runs from Saturday, November 2, 2013 to Wednesday, July 30, 2014. The minimum size isFive and three-quarter inches measured by the shortest distance through the body from edge of shell to edge of shell directly in front of and excluding the points (lateral spines). The bag limit is 10.

Rockfish and Lingcod Regulations: Fort Bragg is located in the North-Central North of Point Arena Management Area. This include Ocean waters between 40°10' N. latitude (Cape Mendocino) and 38°57.5' N. latitude (Point Arena), including portion of Humboldt County and northern and central Mendocino County.

Season: RCG Complex (including all species of Rockfish, Cabezon and Greenlings). The season for boat-based Anglers is open from May 15-Labor Day and for divers and shore-based anglers  is open year round

Depth limit: May only be taken or possessed in waters less than 120 ft (20 fm) deep
