Location: The Sacramento River, located in the heart of the Sacramento metropolitan area, offers a unique urban fishing experience. Boaters and bank anglers can catch a variety of species within sight of the State Capitol.

Fishing Season: Salmon fishing is open from July 16 through December 16. Fishing for shad, striped bass, sturgeon, catfish, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass and other species is open year round. Review the California Fresh Water Sport Fishing Regulations Booklet for bag and possession limits, hook restrictions and additional restrictions.

Boat launching: Free public concrete launch ramps are available at Broderick (City of West Sacramento), Miller Park (Sacramento Marina), Garcia Bend Park (City of Sacramento) and Clarksburg (Merritt Island). Fee-for-use launch facilities are available at Discovery Park (County of Sacramento) and Clarksburg Marina (hoist launch).
