    Fishing Notes:
  • Rainbow Trout fishing is good in the fall, winter and early spring when water temperatures are cool. Fish nightcrawlers and Power Bait off the docks and near the dam. Trolling with minnow imitation lures and nightcrawlers behind flashers is also productive.
  • Largemouth Bass can be caught throughout the year with the best action in fall and spring. Use plastic worms, crankbaits and soft jerk baits.
  • Channel Catfish bite best in the summer and fall, when water temperatures are at their height. Fish with mackerel, sardines and chicken livers.
  • Striped Bass are taken year round with the best action in the fall and winter when trout are being planted. Cast Castaic Trout lures and large flies into boiling stripers.
  • Black Crappie can be taken on small jigs off the dam and around tules and docks.
