Caught this Steelhead on roe, backbouncing and drifting from a friend's jet boat near Riggins, Idaho. It's a hen of around 30" or so and weighs about 8 lbs. My dad, brother and I caught six Steelhead and released two, which were native fish, this weekend. It was very cold on this day, the wind chill never got much above 40 degrees.- Todd LaCasse

I had a great time!! This was one of the many Albacore caught on this trip. I don't really care for how I look in this picture, but it sure was fun catching the fish!! The whole trip we caught over 350 fish. it was cold and rough. I went out of San Diego on the American Angler point loma sportfishing. It is a 95 foot boat. Lots of room. We also caught Yellow tail. -Denyse
Sara and Mark
My daughter Sarah pulled in this nice 30 lb King trolling on the Sacramento River. As evidenced by her face, this was the most awesome fish she's ever landed. She couldn't hold it up so got some assistance from our good friend Mark. - Don Romero

Ron Clarke

It was August 2, 2001 and we heard word that the halibut were tearing up dead squid just outside of Moss Landing, and so me and my fishing/hunting buddy, Ron Clarke (The Farmer) from Los Banos, finally pulled the trigger on taking the day off for fishing. He and I dragged my beater Montauk (MegaBite) from San Jose to meet up and fish halibut. It was worth it because the weather was beautiful and the fishing came through for us. This is Ron's first good halibut, and he ended up catching his limit before I caught my first. I am sure glad I got to join the party and caught all three of my own as well, after. -Karl Jacobson

This 48 pound, 53 inch sturgeon, couldn't resist the combination of grass shrimp and frozen prawn with the head still on it. It fell prey back in 1998, but it took me a while to find the picture after I had the film developed and set the pictures aside in a drawer. I was fishing by myself out in Suisun Bay about 500 yards due South of buoy number 9. It seems like I only manage to catch one about every 15 months or so and usually when I am by myself in my boat. It has been almost two years since my last sturgeon and I wasn't able to get a picture of me with it, so I had to settle for a picture of it by itself, but I am not sending in that one. I am hoping to get in one more trip before the end of this year, but there is no guarantee of that, so I will have to wait and see what happens. Thanks, Bob Cummings, Vacaville.

Hi, My biggest fish of the 2001 season was taken right off "Ten Mile Beach" below Tomales Bay in Marin County in less than 30 feet of water. It was mid tide in the morning, near the end of September and I was trolling a "Purple Haze" Hootchie with a back cut anchovy behind a "0" herring dodger flasher. The rig was lead down rigged on the wire and I was alone in my Western Eagle 18. It took over an hour to land. 42 pounds, gilled and gutted. What a blast!

I had just turned my back to grab a brewski when my buddy yelled, "dood your pole!!" I turned around to see my rod bouncing around wildly against my fold out chair. Lucky for me it was sturdy, otherwise I would've lost my pole for sure. Anyway, to make a long story short (too late), it took me about 20 minutes to land the beast. Major props to my buddy Pat who helped net it, even though he could only fit half of it in the tiny trout net we had. Catch of a lifetime! Hopefully more to come!
