Jim Borden, of Carmichael, CA caught this 53 pound salmon in the Verona
area on the Sacramento River. The fish took the boat on a ride for an
hour and twenty minutes. Not bad for his first salmon of the season
(ok, by far his biggest salmon ever!).

Got this big cat on rod and reel Aug 10. Shimano Special Reel spooled with 30 pound test line. Fishing by myself and this fish proved to be a handful to land. Catchabiggun, Katchaser Robby

Was at the Nimbus Dam on the American River Sat.28 and landed this whopper at 8:00AM. It weight in at around 40 pounds. I was going to take it to the Hatchery but being Saturday, the place looked close. Needless to say, the locals were a little ticked that a Southern Californian apparently got the big one of the Day. I'll remember this as one of the best moments I've ever experienced fishing for sure. Theo

Hello Fish Sniffer Magazine, My mother and father have been fishing for
years and they love the sport. They spend the summer ocean fishing in Trindad,
California. My mother, Karen Henning, won the 2002 Trinidad Salmon Derby with her 43 1/2 pound chinook. I am so proud of my mother. My parents have
spent most of their lives fishing the Sacramento river and surrounding lakes and
streams. Best, Lisa Henning-Stagnoli

Hi, I landed this 25" brown trout on Sunday, September 15, during a four-day
backpacking trip through the Ansel Adams Wilderness. In my experience, a
pretty good-sized fish for a small lake situated at nearly 9,500 feet. He
fell for a chartreuse glow-bug and provided a spirited struggle on my
ultra-light pack rod. He must have been part of an aerial stocking as a
little fingerling some years ago. We landed several rainbows and brookies
from 10-14 inches during the trip, as well. Regards, Steve Mason

Here is a picture to get someone interested and see if I can properly do this. The browns were caught and released on the west slope of the sierras same day and weighed 9 pound female and 11 pound hook jaw. Not bad eh. thank you, Ken Hausman
This catfish was caught at Lake Sonoma on 8/25/02 at about 5 a.m. by 11 year old Amanda Mittelstadt who was fishing with her dad, Karl. She was using beef liver as bait. The fish weighed in at 17 pounds and was 35" long.

Hey folks,
This is my 5 year old son, Tyler Dakota Bosworth. This beauty of a
rainbow was caught in Chester CA in the North fork of the Feather River. It
was 22 inches long and about 3 1/2 lbs. It's the biggest trout my son ever
caught. I wish I could have gotten a picture of his face when he was
reeling it in. You all would have had a good laugh. His eyes were like
saucers. He's pretty proud of this fish. He keeps walking up to family and
friends and tells them next time he'll take them fishing and show them how
to catch a whopper like the one he caught with Grandma and Grandpa. He's
even gone so far to ask his Uncle Chuck if he would like to have his
autograph for catching such a big fish.

Here is the pic of my 28lb. striper I caught trolling a broken back rebel and a striper jig in Rio Vista with my dad on 8/10/02. It was the biggest striper I have ever caught and it was the biggest one my dad has ever seen caught. WOW!! what a day.
