Carole was fishing in Nehalem, Oregon with her husband Robert, her Dad & guide Ken when she caught this 40lber. It made her trip very special.
We limited almost all 4 days, caught 12 large salmon and had it all canned & kippered. Out of this world!

This is a picture of my first King salmon, caught in Montana Creek, Alaska. It was 12:20 AM on the 4th of July, 2000 when I hooked up with this beauty! 31 minutes later I had landed a 42 1/2 lb King. The fishing was red-hot, but "total combat fishing mode," fishing elbow to elbow. What made this a truly memorable occasion is that while we were walking back to our truck (a 1/2 mile trek through Mr. Grizzly's kitchen) there were lots of people shooting off sky rockets, buzz bombs, monster fountains, you name it, in all the colors of the rainbow. Almost as if they knew this was my first salmon, and the display was just for me! I can't wait to go back next year and do it again! River Rat

I fished up at Orleans, CA on the Klamath River last week. I've been fishing up there for 6 years and last week was the best salmon fishing I've had up there. The salmon were averaging 15 to 22 pounds. I was catching them with #15 gold/black Panther Martins. Attached is a photo of Roy Vaughn from Eureka, CA. He caught this 14 pound salmon with a fly rig. This was his first salmon caught on a fly. He did a great job bring the fish in.
For those who want to come up to Orleans they should stay at the U.S. Forestry camp ground called, E Ne Nuck. The camp hosts, John and Darlene Harlan, are the greatest. John is an excellent fisherman and he doesn't mind sharing his fishing tips. He even helps campers to smoke their salmon and will even provide firewood. John Rialon
