I had the opportunity to make a trip this past Saturday, May 3rd, with my dad to Lake Amador. We found fat trout from the surface down to 24 feet deep trolling black Arctic Fox tube flies behind wiggle discs. We tipped our offerings with half-inch long bits of night crawlers. We didn’t start fishing until 9:00 am, but he bite was steady until just after noon when we limited out on fish up to five pounds.

The fish are heading a little deeper with the warming temperatures, but you still have the chance of getting some quality fish at Lake Amador right now.
