“Bass are pushing into shallow water as pre-spawn conditions continue at Bullards Bar,” reported Leven at Emerald Cove Marina. “The water was clearing up a bit, but storms coming through in the next day or two will likely dirty up the water again.”
Better action has been reported on craw colored plastics, while some swimbait action has been reported in shad pattern colors. Trout have shown for a few trollers up river in the Willow Creek area on dodgers and nightcrawlers.”
Rick Kennedy of Tightlines Guide Service reported good Englebright trout action for trollers. “We worked the top ten feet with Sep’s Sidekick or a Sep’s Strike Master leading a nightcrawler- we were able to boat quite a few fish with these tactics. We found the better areas to be closer to the marina – as fish recently released from the pens remain in that area and provided limit style action.”
Bullards Bar is at 61% capacity, while Englebright stands at 91% of capacity.
