Spring has sprung and spotted bass at Bullards Bar are showing up in sizes and numbers that will please.
“Weekday action continues to be slow, but anglers that have reported in with weekend action have not been disappointed,” reported Leven at Emerald Cove Marina. “Anglers have pulled in spots in the seven to nine pound range. The lake has risen forty-one feet from the last series of storms and that seems to have kicked this off. The spotted bass are showing up in pre-spawn stage as the better bite has been in shallower water for anglers tossing chigger-craws.”
“Englebright is full, the trout pens have been released and it’s ready for some anglers,” said Lisa Rogers at Skipper’s Cove Marina. “We have seen some pretty low angler pressure, so come on out and you will have the lake to yourself. Water is still a bit milky, but clearing – so trollers working the top ten feet with crawlers and flashers should find a pretty good bite in and around the marina.”
Bullards Bar is at 58% capacity, while Englebright stands at 91% of capacity.
